Hopefully, hindi ito mawala till sa paglaki mo because message ito pag may edad ka na. People walk on this way, that way. They like this, they like that. Pare-pareho ang gusto. May pattern ang gusto ng mga tao. My “bet” paglaki mo, almost the same with them. (But) My message, BE DIFFERENT.

The Christian World Welcomes Little Karl!

Little Karl was baptized the Catholic way

I was baptized last 08 June 2008 at the Saints Peter and Paul Church in Poblacion, Makati City, in a simple ceremony attended by our family and friends.

Little Karl is now a Christian

After that, I became one of the newest Christians in this world. It means I should be a good boy, shall love GOD above all, obey and respect my parents at all times, and never say a lie.

By the way, here are some of the higlights of the christening. More pictures are available at my Multiply account:

  • I was sleeping during the whole baptismal ceremony and thus completely unaware of what’s going on
  • My parents thought I’ll wake up when the priest shower me with holy water, but I did not
  • Dad carried me during the ceremony since Mommy was busy attending to our guests
  • The officiating priest praised my name since it’s easier to pronounce than other baby’s names scheduled for baptismal on that day
  • We sat in the last row behind others scheduled for baptismal but were the first to had pictures taken at the altar since Dad ran fast for it
  • And we were also the first to go out of the church which according to Filipino’s myth is a lucky vibe
  • My godparents were glad to see me in person since they have only seen me from pictures posted in my blog
  • We had our pictures also infront of the Barrio Fiesta with my ninongs/ninangs and other guests
  • I enjoyed so much lying on the baby basket that I continued my long sleep there while our guests had their photo with me
  • My guests were surprised to see my youngest Ninong and Ninang, Kuya Kim & Ate Lara (age 8 and 11 respectively)
  • Ninong Gab had an impromptu stint as emcee during the “Godparents Wish” part
  • Tita Mona had an impromtu performance singing “Hawak Kamay”, which everyone loved and enjoyed
  • My ninangs can’t get enough of me and kissed me endlessly in my cheeks, tummy, and my armpit (It is so mabango daw!)
  • Tita Clouds, Tita Toni, Tito Boyet, Tito Lumeng and Ninong Ken acted as our official photographers. I will post their photos soon
  • Everyone wrote heartwarming messages in my guestbook which features my cutest photos and memorable firsts
  • Everyone loved my souvenir, a clock with my pictures showing my cute little dimples and bearing the message “Jesus loves you”
  • I received lots of toys, clothes, pakimkim, and baby things from our guests
  • Kuya Kokoy enjoyed so much while inside the church, and kept on running and playing with other kids (maybe because it’s different from the church he used to go with)

My Christening

To welcome me in the Christian world, my Mom and Dad scheduled my baptismal on 08 June 2008 11:00 in the morning, at the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul, Makati City.

The Parish of Sts. Peter and Paul is located at 5539 D.M. Rivera cor. Burgos Street, Poblacion, Makati City, just across Makati Avenue and near Rockwell Center. It is an old yet beautiful church, where my parents used to attend mass during their college days.

Lunch immediately follows after the baptismal ceremony at the Barrio Fiesta (Makati Avenue Branch), Makati Ave. cor Valdez St., Makati City. It is a wonderful restaurant that serves local Philippine dishes, and is quite famous for its “Singing Cooks and Waiters”.

See you there!
